2023 Started Dogs

  • Ruger (Sold)

Neutered registered 3 year old German Shorthair Pointer. He’s a big ranging dog, with energy to hunt all day long. Has a very short slick coat. Has been on wild birds and shot over. He is steady to wing, and has a great nose. Honors/backs other dogs great. He will retrieve the bird if hunting alone, or if there’s no other retriever in the field with him. Has great recall with e-collar and without the e-collar. He is whoa broke and super steady. Has general obedience with clicker training. He is eager to please and hunts hard. Owner will need to condition him, and hunt him a lot.

  • Slick 5,000 (Sold)

Intact registered 11 month old German Wirehaired pointer. He’s a big ranging dog with a very independent search for being so young, but naturally pace’s himself and can go all day early season in the heat with not needing to pack a lot of water. He is super light on his feet and still going and hardly breathing when other dogs are gassed or looking for shade and water. We’ve experienced this running him horseback on the prairies this summer. Has dark tough feet. Has a very tight short slick coat without facial furnishings. Has been on wild birds late last season but still needs more experience on handling wild birds. Is broke to gun, and transitioned as quickly as any of our young dogs through positive reinforcement with clicker/platform training to negative reinforcement with e-collar conditioning on recall and whoa. He also recalls very naturally without e-collar. If he gets lost and can hear whistle he is looking to return quickly as we follow his search with gps and though a big ranging dog, still checks in regularly. He is steady to wing and naturally honors/backs other dogs on point better than some dogs that have been through backing program with silhouette. He has a great nose and natural retrieve(brings right to hand). If you want to purchase him you will need to be a serious upland wild bird hunter that goes regularly and is experienced at handling big running dogs. We would keep this dog for breeding purposes if he had a beard as he has all other qualities we look for in our breeding program. This is the dog I’d want if I hunted public land wild birds 2-3 times a week or more and was hiking long distances. He will cover 3 to 4 times the miles you hike on the gps during a chukar hunt. Price is firm as we aren’t anxious to sale and will hunt this dog this fall rather than sale him to the wrong person where he cannot reach his potential.

  • Chip 3,000 (Sold)

In tact registered 1 1/2 year old German Wirehaired Pointer. Has one undescended testicle, so he will need to be neutered to avoid future problems. He’s a mid ranging dog, and he has a great nose and is super technical out in the field. Has natural backing and honors great. Has a very tight coat with around 3/4 inch long hair. Has been on wild birds and shot over. He is steady to wing, and has a great nose. He has a natural retrieve and brings it right to hand. Has great recall with e-collar and without the e-collar. He is whoa broke and super steady. Has general obedience with clicker training. This dog has a great off switch around the house. He has lots of prey drive in the field, but around the house he is happy to just lay down and be petted.
